After
a bitter divorce in 1967,
I
started
going by my first name, Virginia.
I
remarried in 1969 and in 1970,
we
headed
for Alaska.
Our
family
consisted of a son,
Rob 6,
and a daughter, Nancy 3.
We had
three Chows: Gina 10,
Candy
3 and ‘baby Lucy’ 8 weeks
We
camped
for the first 5 months in Alaska.
It
rained
continually and the chows were 3
mud
balls
to be stepped over in our small
camper.
All in all it was a very miserable
experience
that summer.
Although
we didn’t show at all during the 70’s
we
always
had two or three Chows as pets.
They
all came from Don-Lee Kennels
and
some
were very good show quality.
It
was
a shame the dog shows in Alaska
were
few and far between.
