When we lost Latte'
I wanted
to get another puppy for Lacey to play with.
I had
always had just females
and
they always got along fine.
However by
then things were
not
so harmonious with the
bitches
together so when
Richard Mangum sent another tape
of a new
litter (all males,)
Kirby
caught my eye.
He arrived at our
house when he was 3 months old
and immediatly took over the
house
as though he owned the place -
his tail never stopped
wagging.
He started his show
career at 6 months with a best of winners.
He
earned his two majors by
defeating
Champions got his first
group placement when
he
was 7 months old.
Noted breeder
judge Dr. Sam
Draper
gave him his first
Group One
when he was 18
months old.
For the next 5
years, he was the top non-sporting dog in Alaska
and won numerous groups and
group
placements. He loved to
show and was seldom
left
out of the group ribbons.
Finally, just
before his
sixth birthday,
he got a Best in Show and is
now
retired to rest on his laurels.
Now at 6 years old,
he is a spoiled couch potato -
a sweet, happy boy.
However, he still gets all excited
when he sees me in my
show
clothes.
We will show him in
veterans classes
because he still likes to
show so
much.

Until Kirby, the
most I aspired to in the show ring was
a Best
Opposite since I
always showed
bitches.
I never
dreamed I would
have a dog like Kirby
to
love and to show.
I will be
forever grateful to
Richard
and Lorri Mangum
for sending
us both
Kirby and Lacey.
Also,
I would like to
thank Lorraine
Young, breeder of Kirby's
Sire: Ch.
Lor
mor's
Gabriel of Kobe
Dam: Lor Mor's
Rosalinda.
Without
her and
those two wonderful Chows,
Kirby
wouldn't
be here.
She
is a wonderful
friend and mentor and
a
great contributor to our breed.
